Quality, Training & Safeguarding
Safe, compassionate care through excellence
At Major Healthcare, safe, compassionate and person-centred care starts with the people who deliver it. We are committed to maintaining high standards through robust quality assurance, effective training, strong safeguarding practices and a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Our quality assurance framework helps us maintain high standards across every aspect of our care and support services, from care planning and safeguarding to staff development and specialist training. Through regular audits, supervision, feedback, incident reviews and reviews of care and support, we identify learning, strengthen practice and continually improve the quality, safety and responsiveness of the services we provide.
Whether supporting children, young people or adults, our focus remains the same: providing safe, compassionate and person-centred care and support that protects dignity, respects individual rights and choices, and promotes wellbeing.

How we maintain high standards
Quality assurance is embedded throughout our organisation and forms part of our everyday practice. We regularly review:
Care plans
Risk assessments
Daily care records
Incident reporting
Safeguarding concerns
Spot checks
Staff supervision
Competency assessments
Feedback from individuals, families and professionals
These ongoing reviews help us identify learning opportunities, respond promptly to concerns and continually improve the quality, safety and responsiveness of the care and support we provide.
Safe, compassionate and person-centred care begins with effective training that gives our teams the knowledge, skills and confidence to provide high-quality support
Our staff complete a robust induction and mandatory training programme before delivering care and support. Learning continues through practical and specialist training, regular supervision, competency assessments and ongoing professional development. This helps ensure our teams have the knowledge, skills and competence required for their roles and the individual needs of the people they support.
Our training Includes:
-

Positive Behaviour Support
Package-Specific Training

Positive Behaviour Support is an important part of our approach to supporting individuals with complex needs, particularly where distress may be expressed through behaviours that challenge. Our focus is on understanding the reasons behind the behaviour, reducing triggers and using proactive, person-centred strategies that promote safety, dignity, choice and wellbeing.
We focus on understanding the causes of distress, building positive relationships, proactive planning and effective de-escalation, with the aim of preventing escalation and reducing the need for restrictive practices wherever possible.
Through our NAPPI training and membership of the Restraint Reduction Network (RRN), we are committed to promoting least restrictive practice, protecting individual rights and creating safer, more positive and supportive environments for the people we support and our staff.

A promise of continuous improvement
Providing safe, compassionate and person-centred care is an ongoing commitment. We continually review, learn and improve to ensure the care and support we provide remains responsive, effective and centred around the needs of each individual.
By investing in our people, learning from feedback and incidents, and continually reviewing and improving how we work, we aim to ensure every individual receives safe, compassionate, effective and person-centred care and support.
Quality is an ongoing commitment, we continually learn, review and improve our practice to strengthen the safety, quality and effectiveness of the care and support we provide.
